The Cosmic Women’s Tribe: Heal. Rise. Love.

By Rachel Nichols

A Cosmic Woman: She sees beyond color of skin, nationality, creed, social/economic/educational class, age, etc and looks into your soul; your divine spirit. She sees no barriers. She represents immense female power, focus, and strength. She knows her power and does not need validation or approval. She is deeply Self-respecting and represents the end of Self-denial and Self-sabotage. She is deeply balanced, courageous and claws through layers to pierce through stories and drama. She is ever wild and free yet fully grounded. She is the goddess glowing who lives in her Shakti power.

Let's close the gap between women and heal one another. We must band together as a collective before we can quantum leap forward. If the micro can heal so can the macro. Let’s evolve as a collective consciousness. The time is now. The divine feminine is awakening within all of us.

Yashoda Devi Ma, a master teacher of Vedic Meditation and Sattva Yoga, founded The Cosmic Women’s Tribe five years ago when she was riding on the back of her Guru’s motorcycle through the Himalayas. For six weeks I was on a pilgrimage of a lifetime, hiking up to four of the most sacred peaks in these amazing mountains. We had about 18 people on the ride and half of them women,” Yashoda said. “Though I experienced massive beauty on the trip I also witnessed the classic epidemic of the social conditioning of women, which was being competitive, negative, catty, gossiping, negative, stuck on body image and more. I thought to myself, ‘This must change! Here we are in one of the most amazing places in the world and this happening.’”

Yashoda wanted to experience unity and the glory of being divine goddesses together in sacred places, so when she arrived back to the United States, she began to pull together a beautiful group of women of all ages in Flagstaff, Arizona on the New Moon and Full Moon to end this way old way of relating.

“I wanted to create an environment that felt safe, open, full of love and nurture,” Yashoda said. “I was a mother to a young three-year-old at the time and I felt it was important for the ‘mother’ in all of us to be relieved, nurtured and unconditionally loved. To have a space to cry in for no reason, to be touched by another human being with hands that held the heart of love with no expectation of anything and to heal whatever wounds were still bleeding.”

Yashoda began to use the Sattva Yoga experience of pranayama, kriya, freedom movement, touch, smell, taste, hearing, chanting, sound bowls, live singing, wisdom, flower/crystal mandalas, candles, aromatherapy, roses, deep connection and more to enhance these Moon meetings. “I felt women gathering on the Moon cycles was crucial to our growth as a collective,” she said. “We are powerful during the Full Moon and when we are out of harmony it can create a rough time for women.”

Shortly thereafter, Yashoda was being invited to yoga festivals as well as yoga studios and women’s homes around the world, where she would hold Cosmic Women’s Tribe workshops. “I will continue to do this work as long as there is demand,” Yashoda said. “I hope to speak at more conferences and bring this deeper work to women. Talking isn’t enough. Deeply healing on the individual level is what raises the collective consciousness. If one heals, we all heal together. We have to deeply go inward to pull out a lot of this social conditioning and heal for the next generation to be free.”

The Cosmic Women’s Tribe Mission
To heal women through women. To unite as one through love, nurturing, honor, grace, wisdom, consciousness and deep respect. We must become peaceful with one another for all women to move forward into the divine feminine. Bringing “The Fourth Wave” of feminism to life within the sisterhood; Heal thyself.

Creating a space and tribe of women to fully connect without story and truly touch each other’s soul. To deeply experience the now and the Goddess who sits before you. Honoring the human being that stands before you, walks next to you, sits behind you, breathes the same air as you, etc. Letting go of all barriers, judgements, triggers, ego, competitiveness, jealousy, gossip, etc and absolutely selflessly be there for one another.
