Deepak Chopra at CIIS!
Are we in the midst of a major paradigm shift in science? Is there an ultimate reality? Does consciousness conceive, construct and become the physical universe? The California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) Public Programs is welcoming renowned spiritual leader and author Deepak Chopra to San Francisco to answer these questions on September 28 at the Herbst Theatre at 7:30 p.m.
Deepak will also discuss the roadmap for "higher health" based on the latest findings in both mainstream and alternative medicine as well as share insights from his new book, Radical Beauty: How to Transform Yourself from the Inside Out, addressing practical ways to experience higher consciousness, transformation and healing. Each attendee will receive a copy of the book.
“CIIS has a long relationship with Deepak, as he was the very first recipient of The Haridas and Bina Chaudhuri Award for Distinguished Service in 2003,” said Kirstin Van Cleef, marketing manager for CIIS. “He returned to CIIS in our Fall 2012 season to talk about his book, God: A Story of Revelation. Deepak's ideas around consciousness, the mind body connection, and spirituality are very much aligned with what CIIS is known for around the world.”
So the CIIS invited Deepak back again to discuss his most recent ideas on how our understanding of consciousness might enhance our capacity for intuition, creativity, conscious choice making and healing. “This kind of thinking is sorely needed at this moment in history,” Kirstin said. “He is an exceptionally entertaining speaker and it's sure to be an informative, inspiring and engaging evening.”
Deepak Chopra, MD FACP, is the founder of The Chopra Foundation and co-founder of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing, is a world-renowned pioneer in integrative medicine and personal transformation, and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism. He is also the author of more than 80 books. For more information visit Deepak Chopra's website. And Can We Talk about How Cool San Francisco’s Very Own CIIS is Real Quick?
According to their mission statement, the California Institute of Integral Studies is an accredited university that strives to embody spirit, intellect, and wisdom in service to individuals, communities, and the earth. I had never heard of the CIIS until I saw that they were bringing Deepak to San Francisco, so I checked out their website out of curiosity and was really excited to learn about all the amazing public programs, courses and a wide range of academic programs they offer. I also saw that they are having a Fall Open House on October 1 for anyone interested in learning more about their programs. RSVP here.
