Tremor Yoga (also known as Neurogenic YogaTM) is a simple, gentle, safe technique that facilitates the release of physical and emotional stress, trauma and tension. Through yoga poses, the body is led into Self-Induced Therapeutic Tremors.
These tremors are designed to occur naturally and automatically when the nervous system identifies threat, however, humans learn that shaking is not socially acceptable and we condition ourselves out of this innate release mechanism at a very early age. This shaking response, much the same as the instinctual shaking in other mammals, is the nervous system’s way of naturally discharging long-held tension and trauma, or unconscious muscle contraction in order to restore the body to wholeness and balance.
