Want to learn the balance of strength and alignment necessary to invert; truly finding freedom and strength in some fun postures? Fearful of going upside down? Join Gillian Confair for a weekend of inversions, including learning basic core engagement, energetic alignment, anatomy for inversions, and how to conquer your fear and lift your feet off the ground. Core stabilization improves your postural alignment, relieves low back pain and leaves you with an overall feeling of internal strength and confidence.
All levels of flyers are welcome - the workshop will cater this flight practice to you and make it accessible, playful, and powerful.
Each day breaks down into two sections: a 3-hour lecture on anatomy, bandhas, and alignment, followed by a 2-hour postural clinic.
Day 1 will include arm balances:
- Astavakrasana variations
- Flying Pigeon variations
- Crow Pose in ALL forms!
- and More!
Day 2 will move on to inversions:
- Pincha mayurasana
- Inversion transitions
- Seated lifts and hovering postures
Come prepared with questions. Bring your mat, your journal and writing utensils.
Certification: Upon completion you will be eligible to register 10 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) with Yoga Alliance (YA).
