Yummi Yogis!

Yummi Yogis!

By Jade Kwiatkowski

The holidays are a wonderful time of giving and gathering. With that being said, all of the fun can come with quite a bit of madness. No matter who you are, the truth is that this time of year can be particularly stressful. I know personally being a college student during finals week, it can be so difficult to just take a minute to decompress. The days fly by so quickly and before we know it the holidays and end of the year activities are in full swing! When everyone around you is in a rush, it is vital to remember to stop and make a little time for your personal health.

One of my favorite things in the entire world to do is bake. Something about taking different steps to produce such a delicious and beautiful end product is so calming to me. I have always used baking as a creative and stress relieving outlet. Even when it is not the holiday season, I bake when I get upset, anxious or overwhelmed. When I received this Yummi Yogi cookie cutter, I was so excited….

Nothing could be better than mixing my two favorite things: yoga and baking! Bottom line is this: whether you like to bake, read, go for a walk, or do a bit of yoga, you must find what it is that can be your one special part of the day. I have found this to be so important. We forget each day to think of things like, “What can I do today to take care of myself?” This could be something so small! Even taking 10 minutes to do what YOU want, will have a profound impact on your day and mood.
