Sat Nam Fest 2016
By Liya Garber
This year was my first Sat Nam Festival. My experience was very deep and nurturing.
I love going to Kundalini Yoga gatherings, as it is a place where I can meet many sweet souls and we all make a conscious decision together to rise up and elevate. As a Kundalini Yoga teacher I felt very motivated and inspired after this beautiful event.
It was amazing how the desert gave me extra space to grow and clear my mind! Part of it - was just being in nature. Being witness to the Earth and the Heavens gave my mind more space and I was able to be fully in the moment and take in everything from Sat Nam Fest so perfectly.
During one of the Kundalini Dance classes my heart opened up so fully that tears welled up in my eyes. I felt incredibly liberated and somehow forgiveness for myself and others just flowed through me. It was such a beautiful experience. It was just amazing how very teacher had a special gift for our consciousness. Jai Dev Singh's class was my favorite - it was incredible! At the end of his class, I felt so fulfilled and moved by the way this man holds space, it was pure magic.
The theme this year was about releasing trauma. Many of the workshops and classes were invoking the energy of clearing and moving out our past experiences. This allowed us to free up space for the new and dive deeper into our truths of the present moment.
Evening time was very special, as we all gathered at the main stage for a different concert each night. It felt as though we were all part of one big loving tribe. It was especially nice to see the kids running around smiling, laughing and activating all of us with their sweet presence.
I left feeling such gratitude for this festival and the amazing offerings we all got nourished by. It is a beautiful thing - how a festival like Sat Nam Fest - leaves you forever different. I released so much fear and self doubt and filled my self with Prana, laughter, amazing food, new friends and so much wisdom. I am already looking forward to next year!
Sat Nam everyone and I hope to see you all next time.
